Service Options
The cost of service depends on what you want, when, and where you want it. We have maintenance programs designed especially for your unique requirements!
Everybody's needs are unique. Mission Critical generally applies in the context of public safety and requires the highest level of service. These users often require on-site service with repairs made within hours, not weeks. Conversely, churches typically have no probem with repairs made within the same week.
Manufacturing plants, school bus operations, and fixed area vehicle fleets (fire trucks for example) often require on-site service while others can bring or ship their equipment to a repair shop or depot.
Fixed stations (office dispatch or repeaters) are typically repaired on site due to the size and weight of the equipment as well as the need to address other components of the system (AC power, antennas, lightning protection devices, etc.).
Conversely, handheld radios, mobiles, and mobile type stations can easily be taken to a local repair facility, shipped to a repair depot, or picked up by courier. As long as the equipment can be returned to the manufacturer's designated warranty repair depot, the cost of maintenance (other than abuse) generally consists of nothing more than the cost of the warranty, shipping cost, and cost related to downtime.
If it is necessary to provide on-site service or to pick up defective equipment, the cost of transportation becomes a factor. This is known as a trip charge if a technician is involved or a courier charge if the equipment is picked up for repair. In some cases, an exchange unit may be provided for additional cost. The cost of on-site service will be more fully explained in the Contract, Flat Rate, and Time and Material service plans. For now it is important to notethat there is a cost extending beyond the manufacturer's warranty to provide pickup and delivery of equipment or to provide on-site service.
Lastly, there is an additional cost for service outside normal business hours. It is generally assumed that normal business hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Service performed before or after normal business hours, on weekend, or on holidays is subject to a substantial surcharge. The objective (yours and ours) is to define your needs and come up with a maintenance program that addresses those needs with the greatest efficiency.
We invite you to review our Contract, Flat Rate, Time and Materials, Warranty (both standard and extended) plus our exclusive TimeShare programs to determine the service plan best suited for YOU!
