Our business used to be simple, or at least, more simple than it is now! Not too many years ago, we could specialize in selling a single brand of communications equipment to a select group of users, negotiate or earn the best price from the manufacturer, and provide the product at a fair price with an equitable relationship with those we served. That was our business model.
To some extent, the relationship with our customers has remained the same, but the requirement to meet the needs of our customers has expanded significantly. Today, we are expected to provide the best products, at the best prices, with the best customer service and to provide capabilities in the area of finding grants, assisting in the preparation of grants, manage customer activities relating to FCC matters, offer special engineering services, as well as providing efficient and affordable installation and maintenance programs on our products.
In the early 80’s and through the early 90’s the bulk of our business was paging, mainly for fire departments, then consumer paging, followed by the introduction of digital cell phones. Through it all, we have always provided 2-way radio and related items to Business, Institutional, and Governmental markets. We relied primarily on the manufacturers regional repair depots for maintenance services. That was then, this is now!
